If you don't like the path that a ground routes takes, you can override it. So don't get carried away by adding 10 nodes around a turn. Aircraft will anticipate turns and turn early before a node if required to exit the turn on the correct path between the taxi nodes. Generally only 1 or 2 nodes need to be defined for a turn. Taxi speeds are determined by looking at turn the turn radius of the upcoming turn. High-speed exits are weighted higher (except for light props) when creating arrival ground routes so it will pick a high-speed exit rather than a perpendicular exit as long as it's not too much further away. Ground routes are generated correctly for runway requiring back-tracking before takeoff or after landingĮxit points on the runways after landing are determined looking at aircraft landing distances.

Narrower taxiways will be used if ones of sufficient width aren't found and a message will be logged in the generator log file notifying you of this. Ground routes are created using the most direct path to and from the runways looking for taxi widths of the appropriate size as defined in the apt.dat file. Any nodes connecting the taxi network to the parking spots will be ignored. When WT is creating ground routes, it will determine where the plane will be after push-back and then find the closest, most direct node on the taxi network. For example, the network can connect to the parking spot or not. The taxi network doesn't have to follow any specific rules. To see a list of airports that have defined taxi networks, see this map and click on the taxi route network box: If this data doesn't exist for an airport, you'll have to define the taxi network using WED but fortunately that tool is quite easy to use I've found. Ground routes are auto-generated using the taxi network defined the X-Plane apt.dat files. Finally you can generate ground routes for a specific parking spot from the Parking Assignments editor if you make changes in the editor to the push-back settings, operators, aircraft type. You can also manually request to generate ground routes for a specific airport. If ground routes do not exist for either of those airports, it will generate them. The first way is when you are generating or loading flights between two airports. Ground routes for an airport can be generated for an airport in three separate ways. This traffic will only be generated if ground routes exist for those aircraft types at your airport.Īuto Ground Route Generation - See video here: You can also set options to augment the flights with autogen military or GA traffic. Your starting gate is now automatically determined so you don't have to select it and ATC will give you taxi way instructions to the appropriate departure runway that you select. Options exists on this window to set max number of flights that can be generated, traffic density, and number of gates occupied. Flight plans are automatically generated or loaded if using the tabular files described below. The departure airport is set to your current location and ground routes are generated automatically for this airport and the destination airport if they don't already exist when you click the "Generate Flights" button. This information is used by the ATC function to give you routing instructions on the ground and in the air. As shown in the video below, you enter your own aircraft information like aircraft name, callsign, destination airport, requested cruising altitude. Everything else talked about below is just used for tuning or is behind-the-scenes detail for those interested. This is the one go-to window now used to initiate your flight. Installer are provided for the main World Traffic application and I'm making them for Bluebell's WT3 aircraft as well.

As much time went into this update as for the initial application so it's a pretty massive update and again it's a free update for existing users: But My airports are loaded, love it.As the countdown to WT3 release approaches, I thought I'd post a detailed, organized list of new features. And when landing, the other planes just landed over your Slim: well as sunset did say, I do think x-life is an option to try, as it is a moving developement. As far as I can see, in the ingame map, the aircrafts are not sunset: Dynamic Scenery was a built in traffic of FSX, but it was so very bad, as other planes could just bump into you. I have not tried the ATC of x-life till now, and do not know if the ingame ATC recognipzes the traffic, this must be tested. I will try furtheron, what is going on, but it seems that the dev of X-life is working on the demands. The only thing is, you need to disable "place parked Airliners" in the graffic settings of your Game, as otherwise the generated Airplanes of x-life scrumble up with the goasty parked airplanes from the game. Hi there, I am using now the X-Life "Free version" fom his WEBsite, and I must say it works wonderful.
